InterWorld EcoVillage is located on 40 acres of sacred valley land in Colorado, due East of the great Tava-kaavi (or “Sun Mountain”), which is an indigenous (Uto-Aztecan) name for the sacred mountain now famously known as Pikes Peak. As an eight limbs initiative of InterWorld Institute Organization 501(c)3 for Inner World Peace, InterWorld Ecovillage is a creative events venue, holistic healing center, educational campus and spiritual retreat space.
InterWorld provides all of its own solar power, community housing, gathering spaces and water supply sources, as well as garden beds and greenhouses for growing organic vegetarian food.
Current permaculture initiatives include ecologically regenerating the InterWorld grounds by building soil health, sowing native seeds, planting trees and retaining moisture to create a fertile, verdant and thriving ecosystem.
Less than 30 minutes from an active airport and from Colorado’s second-largest city, InterWorld Ecovillage is conveniently located between Boulder, Crestone and Taos, New Mexico.
Skywater Ridge is a 36-acre high desert property rooted in a simple but powerful idea: when land is cared for wisely, it can move beyond survival and into generosity.
We are building a living system designed to first sustain itself—and then extend outward to feed others.
What We’re Building
Instead of conventional approaches, we are creating a regenerative ecosystem using time-tested, low-tech, and repurposed methods that work with the land:
- Walipini (underground greenhouses) to grow food year-round while conserving heat and water
- Hugelkultur beds that turn organic waste into rich, water-retaining soil
- Rainwater catchment systems to harvest and store every drop possible in the desert
- Solar energy systems to power the land sustainably and independently
- Repurposed and recycled materials for building structures, beds, and infrastructure
Nothing is wasted. Everything has a role. Every output becomes an input for something else.
Why This Matters
Our goal is to move through three stages:
1. Stability – producing enough food and energy to sustain the land itself
2. Resilience – creating systems that thrive in desert conditions with minimal outside input
3. Generosity – growing beyond our needs so we can freely give food to neighbors, families, and the surrounding community
This is about more than farming. It’s about proving that abundance is possible—even in harsh environments—when we design with intention.
IT HAS BEEN STATED BY 4 DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT AREA 420 MANAGEMENT IS CORRUPT AND ENGAGES IN EXTRAORDINARILY QUESTIONABLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. PERSONALLY I HAVE COMMUNICATED WITH AREA 420 MANAGEMENT REGARDING MANY TOPICS TO NO AVAIL. THE ONLY REASON WE WILL CONTINUE TO FEATURE THEM IS TO REFERENCE THE COMMUNITIES ORGANIZING AS A GENERALITY.
